Lessons From The Hunt
After the MosaicRC Easter service lots of fun began! Our community of fiath, love, and hope planned to put on an egg hunt for the community of Rancho Cucamonga. We believe that “Small things done with great love will change the world! At Mosaic we also state, “The Church is not here to meet our needs. We are the Church and we are here to meet the needs of the world!
On the MRC Blog – http://www.mosaicrc.voxtropolis.com/ – I posted a number of comments from people from our community.
I wanted to post here a three lessons I learned.
1. We can expect God to show up if we are moving forward, but if He doesn’t in the way we expected still do the right thing. MRC just finished looking at the life of Jonathan from 1 Sam.14. Jonathan moved out to do what was right. It could have cost him his life. We could have had egg all over our faces [no pun intended] if the egg hunt went bust. But the thing is we needed to do the egg hunt because it was the right thing to do [that is serving the community as opposed to serving ourselves].
2. Know you and your people will take hits for your action. I had one particular ‘key/essential’ leader take a lot of grief from people who were greedy. It is hard when someone you love takes the brunt of the battle. Know it is a reality and love them for through it.
3. People want to make a difference even when they do not state it verbally. I was so amazewd at how the MRC community really jumped in and were ‘digging it.’ I saw a woman use her gifts of gathering. I never knew she had such a guft. Afterwards she said she wanted to be part of changing lives and this gave her the opportunity.
