Father Musings
Just coming through Father’s day has caused me to muse about “rearing” or “raising” kids. This Is what I am learning - the list I try to live by:
Have an eye to conversation with them everyday.   Even when your kids are little, let them feel that you are more interested in their little minds and situations than anything else in the world.  Let them interrupt you - let them watch you walk toward them in public - If you put a quarter in a piggy bank every day of your kids life, by the time they reach 20 they will have enough money to buy a car or help with college - same is true by what we say to them. To say, ” I noticed today that you were kind to your friend, I heard you say thank you to your mom, - if you look for a reason to build compliments in to them everyday, when they are 20, their minds will be filled with hope, goodness and freedom from being trapped in self. Here is a quote I love: “If you want your kids to improve let them hear the good things you say to them in front of others”.
Thoughts, additions, subtractions?
